How to play Zeta
Practise on this 3×3 board with nine calculations. When you finish, jump into the real game.
Calculation 1/9
51 - 14
Step 1: the first calculation stands alone. Work it out and tap the cell holding that result; it turns green with its order number.
The three rules
- Every result sits on a cell, and the chain covers them all: 9 calculations here, 25 on a 5×5.
- Z is the unknown: the result of the previous calculation. If you just found 42, “Z + 8” makes 50.
- Sometimes there is no Z but crossed calculations: R1, R7 or “R7 + R9” mean the results of calculations 1, 7 and 9 you already solved.
In the game every cell hides a letter: as you solve the chain, the letters spell a motivational phrase (the framing emojis are wildcards). You get three attempts, and the difficulty decides which maths appear.
